Chopper's Story...
Chopper

6 year old male

Purebred American Shorthair

Chopper is registered with both CFA and TICA. Like LJ, he is also a Supreme Grand Champion. His coat is very plush and the colors are striking like his relatives Butch and LJ. He loves dogs and is just a sweetheart, he is quite curious about everything, therefore he gets into everything! He can open cupboards and he likes to get on counters and tables so if you are one of those people that wants a cat to stay on the floor then he’s not the kitty for you. If you are looking for a kitty that wants to help you do everything, especially fix dinner, then look no further! Unfortunately their breeder passed away early this year. Her daughter has been a great caregiver to these cats but can no longer keep them. They have never been caged - and have been loved and well cared for. They are happy and healthy - and will make wonderful pets for some lucky people. We don't often see cats of this quality come through rescue. If you would like more information about Chopper please call or email Jen.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chopper, a Davis American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Davis, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
