Rufus's Story...
Found wandering at large, Rufus is just waiting for his new home.

And does he ever have lots of love to offer! This purebred Basset is about 3 years old and has been neutered, microchipped and treated for heartworms. He loves all humans (children, too!) and is very dog friendly. He is full grown at about 45 lbs. He is crate trained and house trained. There is always a 2-week trial period to make certain you've found a good match.

Rufus' adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped (with free registration in your name), up-to-date with vaccines, and is currently receiving flea and tick preventative and has been treated for heartworms. Dogs come with a complimentary collar and leash. If you're interested in meeting our animals, please apply.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rufus, a Greensboro Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Greensboro, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Greensboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greensboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greensboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greensboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
