Spike's Story...
Spike just turned 3 years old! Spike is house broke and loves to snuggle in bed with you at night. According to Wisdom Panel a mixed breed analysis which is a genetic test that can be done on mixed breeds to help 'figure out' the breeds Spike is Chihuahua, Chinese Crested and Pekingese. Don't know where the Pekingese is? Spike gets long great with the other dogs and cats. Spike is 13 pounds and has very long legs. Spike would do great if he could find a forever family with a fenced in back yard and either a stay at home mom or dad or another dog in the house. Spikes family could not keep him any longer because they where moving around (dad is in the service) and he was not adjusting well to apartment life and having no body other then the cat home with him. The cat was fine but just get boring after a while. If you are interested in Spike please fill out an application at www.resq4paws.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spike, a Ortonville Chihuahua/Chinese Crested dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Chinese Crested for sale in Ortonville, or seeking a Chihuahua/Chinese Crested dog from a breeder in Ortonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ortonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ortonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Chinese Crested breeders who help with Chihuahua/Chinese Crested rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ortonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
