Zeke's Story...
9 month old Zeke is a golden of miniature stature! Smaller in size, but a big personality nonetheless! Weighing in at only 35 pounds, this young pup will probably only reach about 50 pounds. We picked him up at the APL where is owner had turned him in. She kept him tied to his doghouse and because he kept trying to play with her chickens she began to beat him with his leash. Despite his rough start in life, Zeke loves people. He has typical puppy behavior though and play bites and nips. Obedience training and a fence for this young one is a must. Zeke needs to be neutered and will be getting a flea bath. He'll be ready for adoption after October 8th. To start the adoption process, please complete the application found on our website - Local prospects only.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zeke, a Cleveland Golden Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Cleveland, or seeking a Golden Retriever puppy from a breeder in Cleveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cleveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cleveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cleveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
