ZEUS's Story...
Zeus is an approximately 4 year old merlequin male with natural ears. He came to us from an owner who no longer had time for him. He's a lovely boy who has lived with a border collie and is now living with a dane. Zeus has been to the dog park and did well there. He did well with children but is unknown with cats. Zeus is laid back, calm and mellow. He loves attention and will smile if you pet him under his chin, down the front of his chest, between his shoulder blades or on his rump. During his evaluation, he really loved the attention and even laid down and rolled onto his back for tummy rubs within the evaluator's first five minutes there. He needs a slow introduction to some men, depending on size and manners. Zeus came to MAGDRL in July 2009.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ZEUS, a York Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in York, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in York paves the way for another one to be saved.
