Bear's Story...
Bear is a handsome black chow, about 4 years old, a little on the small side. The staff fell in love with him at a small town shelter, but there weren't enough people seeing Bear to get him adopted, and his time was growing short, so we took him on.

Bear has a good (if chow-like) disposition. He greets you with kisses and gets along with other dogs. He is occasionally protective of his neck area, probably due to some harsh treatment in the past. If he is worried he moves his head as if to bite, but there is no fierceness and he forgets about it immediately. For someone who knows chows, this should not be a big problem. He does well with kids petting him but probably should not be in a home with small children or where he will be handled roughly. He is currently in a boarding kennel. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bear, a Los Alamitos Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Los Alamitos, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Los Alamitos.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Alamitos already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Alamitos breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Alamitos paves the way for another one to be saved.
