Fluffy&Chester's Story...
Responsible Foster (or Adoptive) Homes Needed for Two Loving Chows!

We are currently trying to save two loving, gentle and laid back Chows who were recently picked up as "strays" by Animal Control.

Chester (full coat) is estimated to be about 4-years-old, is very affectionate, easy to walk and peaceful around other dogs.

Fluffy (shaved down due to matts) is estimated to be about 8-years-old and is a total sweetheart. Easy to walk, gentle, affectionate and friendly around other dogs.

Both dogs did well on Behavior Testing and are in reasonably good health.

But, because Fluffy and Chester are currently in a very crowded euthanizing city shelter, it is critical that we find immediate foster for one or both dogs in order to save their lives.

We are currently full in both foster homes and boarding situations.

PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT EITHER FLUFFY OR CHESTER! (212) 427-8273.

With more animals anticipated to arrive at already packed shelters over the weekend, we do not have the luxury of time for these dogs. Please help us to save them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fluffy&Chester, a New York Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in New York, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
