My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Louise is a four year old lab mix dog and she has started an incredible journey and is looking for a friend & partner to continue that with her. She is a 40 pound nugget that gets along well with other dogs and is sweet as sugar but is shy with new people & in new sitations. In December we assisted law enforcement with a hoarding case and Louise was living a kennel with about 8 other dogs and had no contact with people aside from the man who cared for the dogs. She had never been off property or even been touched by another person until the day she was rescued. She has blossomed in foster care and adores her foster mom. She is sweet, laid back, and loves to have belly rubs. Being inside the house is totally new to her and she still gets nervous so she would enjoy a home with a confident doggie friend to show her the ropes and a patient person to love her and show her the world. She gets more confident every day and an adopter that will be patient and take her on outings, introduce her to new people, and even take her to obedience classes or some sort of formal training just to get her out into the world in a comfortable environment will help her blossom into the happy little gal she is. She is a special girl that has had a rough start and has already come so far in a short time. She is sweet and affectionate and her adopter will be very lucky to call her their best friend.

Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event!

The adoption fee is $450 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog has tested negative for heartworms.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 10am-Noon. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
