Sparky's Story...
Sparky is one of those dogs that seems to have it all: personality, looks, and smarts. Although he still has a lot of puppy energy and enthusiasm he is proving to be quite responsive to correction and is learning rapidly. He is attentive and attuned to his handler, key ingredients for learning basic obedience and beyond. He is happy to meet anyone and everyone, whether human or dog. Being out of the shelter and into a foster home is helping him to be well on his way to being housebroken and crate-trained. He plays well with both his female and male doggy friends and is also learning to get along with the resident cats. We think that Sparky will continue to blossom with formal training and the focused attention of a responsible owner. We have come to realize what an appropriate name Sparky for him; he is friendly, bright, and alive, just as the name implies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sparky, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
