Carmen's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with cats.

Carmen's Story...
Carmen is a cat who was rescued from the perils of the Craigslist Pet Forum. Someone in Somerville had posted a craigslist advertisement for two pregnant cats that he/she was ready to toss out into the streets, one of whom was Carmen. Although Carmen is such a sweet cat, her owner could not deal with a cat that “kept having babies.”

Carmen is probably the easiest cat for anyone to get along with because she is so well balanced! She is very affectionate and easy to handle, but is not particularly needy. Carmen will come cuddle on your lap every chance she gets but will not insist on it if you don't want her to, and is just as content napping by your side. She is playful if you tease her with a toy, but is not a hyperactive whirlwind of a cat. She is a beautiful long-haired cat who keeps herself very tidy and mat-free. What is there not to love about this wonderful cutie?

Carmen gets along with some cats, but sometimes clashes with other female cats. She is also a favorite target mean kitties who like to pick on quiet cats. In fact Carmen used to squeeze herself into a drawer under the bathroom sink at the Adoption Office just to hide from her bullies! Therefore, she would probably do best with another quiet and docile cat, or as a single cat.

If you are interested in adopting Carmen, fill out an application on our website (http://www.careinitiative.org/adopt.html) and we'll be in touch!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmen, a Cambridge Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Cambridge, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Cambridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cambridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cambridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cambridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
