Amber's Story...
Amber is pure sweetness with 4 legs and a wagging tail. With her calm, quiet, soothing manner, Amber is the ultimate stress reducer. Simply scoop this dainty girl up in your arms and feel your cares drift away. Amber is a very easy dog to fall in love with, and a very easy dog to incorporate into your daily life. She very much enjoys being with her person or people. Amber loves to be held and petted, talked to and is happy to curl up on your lap for a snooze. Amber also has a spunky side, where she will get "ants in her pants" and playfully run around the house and back yard, tail wagging the entire time.

This precious little dog has been amazingly resilient. In fact, judging by her sweet temperament, you'd think Amber had been surrounded by love her entire life. Actually, Amber was picked up by animal control as a stray in Tarrant County. She waited patiently for that special person to come to the shelter, fall in love with her, and take her home. Because Amber had tested heartworm-positive at the shelter, the chances of her being adopted were slim to none. When we heard about the sweet little dog in need, we had to come to her rescue.

Amber is now receiving lots of TLC in her foster home. She has been successfully treated for heartworms and is on monthly preventative. Amber is spayed, micro-chipped and current on shots. She has also had her teeth cleaned. Amber's vet estimates her age at about 6 years. Considering that Chis can easily live into the mid to upper teens, Amber has a long life to look forward to. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset a small portion of Amber's veterinary care.

Amber gets along beautifully with other friendly dogs and would also be fine around cats. She basically wants to love and be loved. Applicants for Amber must have a verifiable history with a vet. A home visit will be required prior to adoption.

Amber is still patiently waiting for that special someone to fall in love with her and take her home. Might that person be you? If so, we invite you to submit an adoption application form today:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amber, a Carrollton Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
