My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTED!!
Raina is a beautiful young tri-color Beagle that came to us from a rural animal shelter in KY, where she was picked up as a stray by Animal Control, so we don't know anything about her past. Like many stray dogs nobody ever came to reclaim her and her time at the shelter was running out. Now she is safely in our care and looking forward to starting a new chapter in her life. This happy, playful girl is estimated to be 1-2 years old and is a small dog weighing about 20 pounds. Raina is:

- current on vaccinations
- spayed
- heartworm neg. & on preventative
- good with small dogs
- microchipped

Raina is an active and energetic young Beagle that loves to play and likes to be around people. She thoroughly enjoys being outside but needs the security of a Beagle proof fence (not "invisible" or underground) to keep her safely contained. She loves to go for walks and explore but needs to practice her leash manners. She is generally well-behaved in the house and is not destructive. She enjoys chewing Nylabones or just relaxing on a dog bed.

Raina has been doing very well with house training when properly supervised and given the opportunity to go outside several times a day. She is crate trained but would rather not be in a crate if she had her way. Therefore, she would NOT be happy being left home in a crate all day, so a home where someone is around most of the day would be ideal.

Raina is just one of the many wonderful dogs available for adoption through our Rescue. Like every dog, she deserves a loving, forever home where he will always be safe, well fed, and know what it feels like to be loved.

IMPORTANT: Safe Hounds Beagle Rescue does not operate a shelter where the public can meet our dogs. All of our Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Prospective adopters MUST submit an adoption application and be pre-approved to adopt. Once an applicant is approved, we’ll begin a matching process—the right dog for the right home. Submitting an application does not guarantee that you will be approved. Please visit our web page: www.safehounds.com to learn more about the adoption process and to download our adoption application.
