Betty's Story...
"Hello! My name is Betty. I'm a very sweet girl and a little bit shy at first, but I warm right up to you. I came to this nice rescue place with my sister, Joanie. We had a wonderful home once -- but our owner had passed away and no one else in the family was able to keep us, so we were sent to this place with lots of dogs in kennels. There were lots and lots of dogs, and the people at that place kept saying that there wasn't enough room and time was running out and that was a bit scary sounding -- I'm glad that this rescue was able to take us so we didn't have to find out what it meant. Since coming here, I've really opened up and I am such a great little dog! I'm very nice to walk on a leash, and I like to please. I know the basic house manners, but I guess I don't really know any commands per say-- I do come when called, and I can Sit, and Wait -- they make me sit and wait everytime they feed me here. I'm also a bit more tubby than my sister, but I never used to get any exercise and now I get to go for daily walks and I love it! I am starting slim down to my 'correct weight' whatever that means. I am very good with other dogs and I don't mind the cats at all either. I like to see kids, but at first I'm a bit unsure, but if they walk up nice and pet me gently I love them. I think I would do best with kids over the age of 5 because sometimes I jump up to get closer and might accidently knock over the tiny ones. I'm a good girl and I'd love to have a family to love me forever... "

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Betty, a Watertown Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Spaniel (Unknown Type) for sale in Watertown, or seeking a Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Watertown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Watertown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Watertown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Spaniel (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Spaniel (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Watertown paves the way for another one to be saved.
