My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is China. Up until a month ago I was what is known as a South Central LA Alley Dog. As you can see by my clipped ears, I had an owner at one point in my early life. Pit bulls aren’t born with this style of ears, our sometimes ignorant owners do this to us for a look. These are usually the same type of owners who can’t keep us, or just don’t want us anymore, so they release us on to the street. Most of us were either kept in a backyard or chained up so we have no idea how to navigate the streets or who to trust. The alleys behind the homes off Central Ave become our home. We wander in packs, get loaded with ticks and fleas, are often attacked by other dogs, by gang members who spray paint graffiti on us, or throw rocks at us to keep us away from their property. The female dogs have litter after litter of unwanted puppies until one day, the lucky ones like me are rescued by someone who cares enough to offer us clean water, something to eat that did not come out of garbage and a clean blanket. We don’t ask for much. What I do need is a forever home to finally call my own. I’ve been spayed, walk great on a leash, I love the people who rescued me, I like riding in the car and I’m crate trained. I’m still nervous around other dogs off leash but I’m learning to trust more and more every day. I go to Pit bull Sunday School every weekend to become more social with new people and new dogs although I have NEVER shown any type of aggression towards people or children. If you are interested in a beautiful blue-fawn American Pit bull terrier like me, please call 818-407-4145 or e-mail Lori@modernica.net
