Duke's Story...
Duke is an adorable Shepherd/Rottweiler mix that just loves people. He will try to melt into you just to get some love! He is a young male that is only about 1 year old. He came into a high kill shelter extremely skinny and needs to put on some much needed weight on him as he is only about 40 pounds right now, but should be much more. He is an ADORABLE boy that is so very sweet and affectionate with people. He has a very friendly personality and loves to give kisses. He seems to be a bit selective of his dog friends and introductions to new dogs should be done slowly and supervised.

He will be completely vetted, vaccinated and neutered prior to adoption. His adoption donation is $200. If you would like more information on how to make Duke a part of your family, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or at 708-224-1900.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Chicago German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler for sale in Chicago, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
