Yesterday on fox 6 news (12-14-04), we featured Cody, who was turned into Shelter Pet Partners after his loving owner died unexpectedly. This is Alexa, one of his partners. She and Cody were separated after their owner's death, and put into different foster homes. We would love to get them adopted together, but also realize that it's most likely not possible. At this point, we just need to find both dogs good homes....even if it's not together. It is very clear to the fosters that the dogs are sad and still searching for their owners and their pals.....but eventually, with the right family, they will be able to be happy and loved again. Alexa is a four to five year old spayed female white Boxer, with a very sweet temperament. She rides wonderfully in the car, and walks well on leash. She is good with cats and older children...we're not sure if she has ever been around little kids, because her owner didn't have small children. But SPP suspects she would be fine with kids as she has a very playful attitude. She is used to spending a lot of time with humans and her other dog comapanions. Because she and Cody are so good with other dogs, they're the types of dogs you could take up to Del Mar Dog Beach and enjoy watching them romp and play with all the other happy pooches.
If you are interested in Alexa or Cody, but can't take both, don't hesitate to call. If we have someone who wants BOTH, we'll let you know.....but we know the reality is that we will most likely have to separate them. Maybe you can make that a happy transition for one of them. Let's get these kids into a home for the holidays!
