Mitzi's Story...
Mitzi is one of four strays who came to BHRG from a vet in Commerce. She is a tri-colored girl who is about 4 years old. This petite gal is spayed and healthy and ready to be adopted. She is working on warming up to the men in the house and has decided that foster mom is great - along with any other female. She loves laying in the ivy outside and playing with the puppy that is her foster sister. With every passing day she is learning that a loving and caring family is a real thing.. We feel that she was a backyard breeder mother. She is learning the finer things in life - air conditioning and lots of love. A patient family will be a must for Mitzi.

Mitzi, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
