Rusty's Story...

ADOPTION PENDING!

Meet this beautiful boy named Rusty. On paper, Rusty is listed as a German Shepherd Dog (GSD) mix but he possesses all of the beautiful markings of a German Shepherd. Rusty is approximately 4-5 years of age, has already been neutered and is at a healthy weight of about 70 pounds. Coming from a very intelligent breed of dogs, Rusty has a good understanding of most of his basic commands. We are currently working on leash training and Rusty is doing well. Rusty is a loyal companion dog but has shown some tendency towards being slightly dog aggressive. Rusty will do best in a home without other dogs or cats. Rusty is very people friendly. Rusty is 100% housetrained and crate trained. Around the house, he is a very laid back guy but he does certainly enjoy his evening walks. Rusty is a fabulous guy who is very deserving of finding his forever home.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Mark Bopp at markbopp-hahs@comcast.net (be sure to copy and paste email address with hyphen included) or call 973-303-2946 to find out when and where you can meet RUSTY! Thank you for your interest in Rusty. He looks forward to hearing from you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Overland Park German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
