Pepper's Story...
Pepper is a 5 year old female dog that appears to be a Border Collie. She was abandoned by her owner at one of our local dog boarding kennels. Pepper has been a companion house dog and is very personable. As is typical for her breed, she is extremely intelligent and needs stimulation to keep her occupied and avoid frustration. She is in great physical shape and would be a good walking companion. Given her well-domesticated background, she could be a very turn-key addition to an active household. We believe she is already housetrained. Pepper is current with vaccinations and is spayed. Her adoption fee is $75. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes. This form is a simple one-sided Microsoft Word document and it can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you would like to receive the form via e-mail, or if you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail message.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pepper, a Austin Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Austin, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
