My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Okay mommas....so we know you have been told not to let your babies grow up to be cowboys....but Roper is here seeking to rehabilitate the cowboy image. Yes, he likes to ramble. Okay, he does actually feel home on the range. Buuuut....this 6 year old, 60 pound cowboy would never break your heart, steal your horses, drink too much, or any of those other cowboy behaviors you have been warned about. Roper here is a very, very good boy. He walks great on leash, he would never dream of jumping on you, he is smart as a whip, and he loves to walk and explore. Roper will be super happy in a household that will play with him in the yard, take him for walks around the neighborhood, and we are pretty sure he would think hiking is heaven. Roper is good with his dog and cat room mates. He is doing great with his potty training, he is crate trained, and he loves to go for a ride. Roper also knows how to sit and shake on command. If you are looking for a new best friend/ partner for all of your outdoor adventures, you could not do better than Roper.

This dog is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms and is being treated in our care. The adoption fee is $400 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 10am-Noon. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.
