My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

This is FINLEY....and he has come a long way from the streets of the San Fernando Valley. Honestly, this 7-8 yr old, 16 lb. Lhasa Poodle mix was probably dumped in the shelter by his owner, as he had a huge mass that resembled a water balloon under his belly that looked rather menacing when we got him! Luckily for Finn...and for us, it was a repairable abdominal hernia. Mr. Finley was very lucky that none of his organs were strangulated and that the hernia did not rupture! He recovered from this surgery, but we found that he didn't not like being picked up and thought perhaps he was in pain from his surgery. That wasn't it. Thought perhaps it was a behavioral issue, so our trainer worked with him. That wasn't it. Finley just didn't look right and was having some "constipation" issues -- so we took him back to a different vet and viola....Finley had developed yet another hernia...this time perianal. OUCH!! He has now had his second surgery and he is totally recovered. Finley is still yearning to go to his forever home -- a home with patience, love and compassion! We have discovered that Finley either has very selective hearing or he might be a little hearing challenged! He would love to be your one and only -- who would love to hog up all the love and attention you can give. His bedtime is 8pm and then he's out for the night, which leads us to believe he might have lived in a mature, one-dog household and when he got sick, his owners could not pay his medical. He loves to follow you around, then snuggle up against you and give you lots of love. His favorite time is "walk time" and when he sees the leash, he goes bonkers!! Loves his walks! This would be a great dog for a household looking for a companion who will love you to pieces and provide all the unconditional love you can take! He doesn't like to share his stuff, so no bothering him when he is eating!! No kids, please.

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!
