Ben's Story...

Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption.

Hi, my name is Ben.

I was found as a stray wandering the streets worrying how to care for myself. At least here at the shelter I have my basic needs taken care of like food and water plus a roof over my head. However, I am longing to find my forever home and a family to love me. Do you have room in your heart and your home for me??

I am a young fellow, about two years old and I weigh around 65 pounds. I have already been neutered, given my basic shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

UPDATE-I HAVE JUST MOVED INTO A NEW FOSTER HOME WITH A GREAT FOSTER MOM!!!!!

His foster mom says this about Ben; "Ben is a loving dog with amazing energy and the sweetest disposition. He gets along great with everyone he meets and he does very well with both the alpha female and senior Rottweiler in his foster home. His favorite activities are catching the Frisbee and playing a game of chase with the other dogs. He loves both because he gets to work off some of his adolescent energy. He also loves our weekend hikes in the woods and is able to do so off leash without running off!

He wouldn't do well with a sedentary family, he needs a family who can provide exercise and involve him in fun activities. He'd really love another active dog in the household to play with. He currently attends a dog day care at "That Dog Gone Place" in Blue Ash twice a week where he has made many friends. The staff loves him and says he gets along with every dog there.

He is housetrained and really a joy to have around. He does appear to have a fetish for toilet paper but keeping the bathroom door closed takes care of his irresistable temptation to unravel and chew the roll.

When you look into his sweet eyes it's obvious he just wants to be loved and that he'll provide unconditional love back."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ben, a Cincinnati Retriever (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type)/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
