Lizzie's Story...
Lizzie is a 3-year old lab/coon hound mix. She is a gentle soul and loves everyone she meets, especially children. Lizzie enjoys her daily walks and is pretty mellow in the house. While Lizzie seems to get along well with little dogs she has exhibited some aggression toward larger dogs. We think she may have been attacked in the past by a big dog, causing her to become fearful when she sees a larger dog. Her foster mom has been working with her using positive reinforcement and Lizzie is responding well. Her adoptive home should continue working with her on this. Lizzie is housebroken and crate trained. Lizzie would make a great addition to almost any family. If you are interested in adopting Lizzie please fill out an adoption application (see above).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lizzie, a Medford Labrador Retriever/Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Coonhound for sale in Medford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Coonhound dog from a breeder in Medford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Medford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Medford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Coonhound breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Medford paves the way for another one to be saved.
