Meow! My name is Little One
Little One's Info...
|Breed:||Domestic Shorthair||Color:||Orange Or Red (Mostly)||Age:||Young|
I am a special needs pet, good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
I'M A SPIROKETES SURVIVOR! (Spiroketes is a parasite that affects different parts of the body. In my case, it was my nervous system.)
When I was a baby, I was taken to Purrrfect Friends. I was having a really hard time walking, even standing. They took me to the doctor right away. I remember hearing the doctor, "He probably won't make it past 6 months old. You can try the medicine, but I don't think it'll work. I suggest put him down." Thank God, they gave me the medicine. While I was on that medicine, I started having siezures from it, so, the volunteers at PFFSAA took me to a different doctor, where I got some new medicine. And it worked! I am now a little over 1 year old and healthy. I still have some damage from the spiroketes, most of it's just that I may walk funny.
I love affection and to be held like a baby, and don't even mind the rocking. I'm not much of a talker, but I absolutely adore being spoken to. I enjoy snuggling against someone's neck and even more sleeping with you. Some of the helpers at Purrrfect Friends say that I'm the funniest kitty cause I like to chase invisible things and turn in circles. I'm very alert.
Since I am a Special Needs Baby, I need a home that will have lots of love, time, patient, and be able to care for me if my nerves start acting up again. So please, if this sounds like you, please contact PFFSAA. My adoption fee is $70. This includes ME, neutering, microchipped, vet check, 1-month flea/tick prevention, and 1-month health insurance.
PFFSAA started as a mother/daughter habit of taking in unwanted and abandoned cats. We became a no-kill, non-profit shelter for felines when it became obvious that we needed more help with food, supplies, volunteers, finances, etc. We take in abandoned, stray, injured, and/or surrendered cats/kittens, provide them medical care and love, and try to match them to permanent homes. We believe that there is a home for every feline, but it might take awhile before that home finds us.
We hope to eventually work with our Animal Shelter and other local groups interested in TNR as well. We also do microchipping for the public, dogs and cats only. If you can't make it to an event, please call us and we will meet you.
While we are not 501c3, please note that we are non-profit and in the process of becoming 501c3.
We are recently using foster homes and looking for a permanent site, so to view an adoptable cat or kitten, someone will meet you at your house at a time that is good for you. Our Adoption does have a Foster Program for the first 30 days. If it does not work out within this time, we can try another feline or partial refund.
We are still working on adoption events, but do have notices posted on any public display boards we can find, and periodically advertise in the Goldsboro News-Argus.
Our adoption fee is $70.00. This covers up-to-date shots, spay/neuter, complete vet-check, microchip, 1-month flea/tick prevention, and 1-month insurance . We have an adoption application, also available online, that we use to help us match homes, and we require a $30.00 deposit to hold specific felines with the balance due the day the animal is to go to its new home. New owners must sign a contract that specifies terms such as keeping the animal indoors, what to do if it doesn't work out or something happens, etc., and we do a home followup visit to be sure everything is working out.
