Memphis's Story...
Memphis was picked up along the interstate and soon after taken to the vet. She had days of feces and urine matted to her tail. She looked miserable. The vet took an x-ray and found she had a hairline fracture in her pelvis and a vertebrate in her lumbar vertebrae was out of whack. She was not able to control her urination and defecation, so they had to express her bladder 2 times a day. If she isn't better by Monday the doctor said the most humane thing would be to euthanize her.

Monday - January 3rd, 2005
Memphis is doing a lot better. She has shown signs of being able to control her waste movements. However her tail was still unusable and dead weight, the doctor reccommends amputation.

Tuesday - January 4th, 2005
Memphis' tail is getting amputated and she is getting altered today. Soon she will be able to come home.

Tuesday - January 18, 2005
Memphis is completely healed. She is controling her waste movements entirely. She would love nothing more than to have a home where she can purr all day long. She loves to play with toys and loves to play with dogs tails, even though they may growl she doesn't care because she is having fun. She also loves to sleep with the dogs. She is really curious about and wants to have another kitty playmate, but has been unable to find one that wants to play back. If a puppy gets too, well acts like a puppy with her, she is quick to put it in it's place and tell it to not chew on her. her hair is growing back gradually and she is looking beautiful. She has a very soft coat, and she is VERY tiny. Her faves are can food, any type of toy and of course her human companion who she could absolutely not do without. Please help Memphie find the home that will cherish her forever, with or without her faults.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Memphis, a Clay Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Clay, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Clay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Clay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Clay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Clay paves the way for another one to be saved.
