Nilla's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Nilla's Story...
This girl is a young vanilla-colored shepherd mix with a cute pink nose. She is still new to her foster home, but they are already impressed with how easy she is to live with. Nilla is a very laidback, calm girl who lives to be petted. She doesn't chew, jump up on people or dig in the yard. She does like to express interior design ideas from time to time by picking up an object and moving it to another room. Although she's a calm girl, she is still a puppy and her puppiness comes out when she's around other dogs. She does love to play. Nilla is very eager to please and she's even good with cats. This girl's wonderful qualities didn't come as a complete surprise to us. Oconee County animal control thought she was so special that that kept her for many months longer than they usually keep dogs, hoping to find her a home. We are so glad we were able to save her in time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nilla, a Athens Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Athens, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
