Greyhound & Rudolf's Story...
Rudolf and Greyhound are a wonderfully loving pair of white tabby cats waiting for the perfect home together at the Felines Inc shelter in Chicago. Rudolf is four-years-old and has only three legs. Greyhound is a two year old white patch tabby. These two big boys came from different backgrounds and met at the shelter. They really follow each other around … adore each other, play together, snuggle and wrestle ... truly BFFs. They also get along with people of all ages, and enjoy the company of other cats. The interesting thing about visiting a cageless shelter is the way you can tell how cats interact with each other … but rarely do you see a pair of cats that bond so closely when they have 70 other cats to choose from on the floor. Rudolf and Greyhound are healthy, have all her claws, are neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, tested for viruses, micro-chipped and ready for a loving home together. You can meet them at the Felines Inc shelter from 12:30PM - 6:00PM seven days a week. For more information, please e-mail info@felinesinc.org or call 773-465-4132. Felines Inc is located at 6379 North Paulina – the corner of Paulina and Devon, in Chicago, Illinois. Their adoption fee is on a sliding scale from $75 to $100 each and benefits the 125 rescued cats at the Felines Inc shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Greyhound & Rudolf, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
