My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Runner is a smallish, youthful Labrador mix dog who was found running along the FDR drive just prior to Labor Day (hence, the name.). Although initially a little scared and timid when first arriving at the city pound, Miss Runner has shown herself to be a very gentle dog who thrives on attention and affection. She walks nicely on the leash, is peaceful around other dogs and is only around 40 lbs. Unfortunately, due to city shelters being totally packed with abandoned animals and lack of cage space, Miss Runner has ended up on the Euthanasia (kill) list despite being a volunteer favorite. Can you help us save this lovely and gentle animal? If so, you need to CALL US IMMEDIATELY, (212) 427-8273 as Miss Runner has only been given a 48 hour reprieve at the shelter. Please call us if you can FOSTER or ADOPT. We are trying desperately to save this sweet and endearing dog, but we cannot do it without help from the public. We literally have no place to put Miss Runner --or any of the hundreds of other pets currently dying in our city shelters. Thank you in advance for any help (foster, sponsoring or adoption) you can offer. Please CALL (212) 427-8273 as soon as possible. This dog is literally on her 11th hour.
