Duke's Story...

NOTE FROM DUKE'S FOSTER HOME: "Duke is adorable, playful, affectionate and lovable! He will certainly make a wonderful addition to a happy, caring home...he is such a sweetheart!"

Hi there- I'm young DUKE! I'm solid gray and I have very soft fur. I'm fun, playful and very lovable and cute! I am neutered, up to date on shots, tested negative for both FIV and FeLv (feline leukemia) and I am housetrained/litterbox trained. I have also been treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms. I am an indoor only kitty searching for a loving home to call my very own!

My life started out pretty tough, as I was a stray living around an apartment complex searching for food, shelter and love. I was alone, scared and very hungry. Of course I am very thankful to the kind people at Advocates 4 Animals Rescue for saving my life! Now I am just searching for the purr-fect home to call my very own! I get along well with everyone who is kind to me, I'm playful, fun, affectionate and loving....I certainly can't wait to meet YOU!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a Xenia British Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a British Shorthair for sale in Xenia, or seeking a British Shorthair cat from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even British Shorthair breeders who help with British Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
