Herc's Story...
Herc, strong and willful like his namesake, is an active pup born in August 2002. He has bouts of puppy happiness where he zooms all around very quickly. He weighs in at 75 pounds and is a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute that found himself homeless due to a family illness. He is currently located in the suburban Philadelphia area.

Herc LOVES to play and also to play fetch. He also likes playing with a soccer ball. He enjoys lying around in the house on his dog bed after he's exercised. He loves to go for leash walks - although he pulls (no surprise) - he is very inquisitive about everything he sees. He is sweet and affectionate and gives kisses although a little roughly at times. He can also be mouthy at times when playing and he is quick with his body movements. Given his power an adult only home is preferred with a fenced in yard where he can romp. Crate trained and housebroken. Experience with the breed a plus as he is willful. Herc would probably do well with a young female companion dog that is his size or a little smaller (no tiny dogs please). Continuing his obedience training will be mandatory. He thrives on human attention and learns quickly with consistency. He likes belly rubs and resting his head between your knees. Other areas he needs work on is counter surfing (he's gotten better with this), walking on leash without pulling or weaving, jumping up on people and grabbing their hands to play (he is getting better with this

Herc is ready for a new leash on life… As a puppy he lived outside and slept in a garage and did not learn as much as he should have during his early months. He’s catching up now and needs a home that will nurture and continue train him to be the perfect pet he has the potential to be.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Herc, a Boyertown Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute for sale in Boyertown, or seeking a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Boyertown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boyertown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boyertown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boyertown paves the way for another one to be saved.
