Magnus's Story...
11/20/09: Magnus IS LOOKING for his best friend
Magnus is the best boxer!!! Only one issue…NO CATS. He is not being fostered with another dog, however, in his two previous foster homes he did well with other dogs. We feel he would do well with or without canine companionship. One thing is for sure….he loves his people. He loves to give kisses and will follow you around. He is also a couch potato.
Magnus walks well on a leash with a harness. He does enjoy a long hike and is just as happy riding in the car. Magnus weighs 65 pounds but he is a short and stocky boy. Magnus has the run of the house and does not get into any trouble. He is currently left alone six hours during a normal work day. He will sit in front of the door when he needs to go out and is completely housebroken.
He will jump if he gets overly excited, like most boxers, when he meets you. Children ten years or younger, would not be appropriate; he might have the tendency to knock them down. We do feel he is closer to five years of age since he has plenty of spunk. A fenced yard would be a plus.
Magnus would be a great addition to any home. He is everything you would want in a boxer.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Magnus, a North Haven Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in North Haven, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in North Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
