Fiona's Story...
Fiona is a little terrier mix who was brought to the pound with two other litter mates. Apparently someone didn't spay their female dog, and just didn't want to deal with the puppies :(

Fiona is a sweet puppy who's 'sad face' pictures don't reflect her happy personality at all. Fiona is perpetually happy - during baths, during sleep or rest times in her crate and most especially when she is playing with the other little dog in her foster home or being carried around 'baby style' in her foster parents' arms. Although we may be pushing it technically to say this very young puppy is housebroken, we can say that Fiona has never had an accident in the house. This is partly due to Fiona's smarts and desire to please, but mostly due to her puppy-saavy foster parents, who anticipate when Fiona has to go and take her outside and wildly applaud her potty successes

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Athens Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Athens, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) puppy from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
