My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 09/23/09: Piper is a 3-1/2 month old 8# Yorkie puppy; she is being fostered in Jupiter, FL. Piper had this to say to everybody recently: Hi everybody! I have been having soooo much fun that I forgot to jump (no pun intended) in and let ya'll know how I'm doing. It has been a busy week for me; I went back to the dogtor for my booster shot and he confirmed I am now 14 weeks old. I try to act like a grown-up around my two furry sisters, but they quickly found out that I am all puppy-puppy-puppy. But I've learned a lot; I pee-pee on a pee-pee pad when Foster Mom is at work and Foster Dad can't stop by to let me out; I LOVE to go on leash walks and if you take me out several times during the day, I will do my 'business' outside; I'm a really good eater, but know my place in the 'pecking order'. My older sis gets fed first, then me, then my other sister. I'm so at home here - and FM & FD and my two foster sisters love me and let me play all the time, which is what I do since I'm not ready for a car or college yet. I can play 24/7 if someone will play with me but, ya know, they sleep at nighttime around here. Okay. So I just cuddle up with the four of them in the human bed and I sleep all night until they get up.

FM tells me constantly with kisses and hugs that I am the prettiest puppy around and.......I believe her! Uh, oh ~~ FM wants the computer...........

Foster Mom here. Seriously, this is the most wonderful little 8# puppy I have ever known. She is full of love and positive energy. Although Piper is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier, she still has her beautiful long wagging tail and her cute little un-cropped ears. Piper is almost 100% house- trained - isn't she smart? She is a very healthy little yorkie girlie, and because she is so young and playful, her perfect home would be one in which there was another dog to play with. I JUST LOVE THIS DOG! The only thing that will take away my sadness when she is adopted is knowing that she has found her forever home with loving parents who adore her as I do.

UPDATED BIO 08/27/09: Piper is a 4-1/2 month old 6-1/2 lb Yorkie puppy; she is being fostered in Stuart, FL. Piper's owner surrendered her because she did not have the time for her. Piper is doing great in her foster home. In just a few days, she has learned to use the pee-pee pad 95% of the time and Foster Mom is also taking her outside often. Piper loves to play with the other young dog in the home and he is teaching her how to walk on a leash and also proper puppy etiquette ~ yeah! She loves to eat and has discovered how much fun toys are - as most puppies, she loves both people and other dogs.

Piper is a still a very young puppy and is very curious about her surroundings; so FM must make the house safe when she leaves. She does a lot of 'mouthing' but is learning she can do it to other dogs, but not to Foster Mom. She is very loving and loves to cuddle; FM said that she will soon be 100% housetrained and will make a great little puppy for the right family.

UPDATED BIO 08/24/2009: Piper here! I went to see the doggy Dogtor today, and she had some PAWSOME news for me! I am actually 4-1/2 months old (18 weeks).... which means I'll probably only grow to be 9-10 lbs at most). It also means I will be available for adoption sooner since I can get my rabies shot soon. The Dogtor says I am very healthy. I've already shown FM that I can wee wee on the wee wee pad, but I still have accidents. I am a loveable little girl and am just looking for someone I can love for the rest of my life. Is that you?

BIO 08/23/2009: Piper is a 3 month old 6-1/2 lb Yorkie puppy whose owner did not have the time for her. Piper came into rescue spayed, microchipped, and with her first set of puppy shots. She is a sweet little girl who is likely to be approximately 12 lbs when fully grown.

Piper will be looking for a family who is knowledgeable about puppy behavior, puppy training, and who has the time to help Piper develop into a loving, trusting, socialized, well-mannered little Yorkie princess. Due to Piper's small size, she cannot go to a home with children under the age of 12 years. Please stay tuned for more about Piper as we get to know her better.
