Rudy's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Rudy's Story...
Rudy is around 9 yrs. old, and in very good physical condition. He was seized from an abusive/neglectful owner. She wasn't very kind to this dog. Mostly had him for a "yard" ornament. He has lived outside his whole life. He came into the shelter with horribly matted fur, it all had to be shaved to the skin. He had infected eyes, and ears, which are all cleared up now. He's been refining his house training skills since he's now allowed indoors -- but he's smart (he knows "SIT", "DOWN", and is learning to "STAY" for longer periods of time), and very sweet and willing to learn. He has never been around another dog -- has lived his whole life in the confines of that backyard fence. He is doing well with them as long as food, or chew bones are no where around. He also gets along really well with cats and bunnies. He's adjusting to "real" life quite well, and is being fostered in Seattle. Rudy's adoption fee is $250.

If you would like to arrange to meet this dog, please submit an adoption application, (obtained by emailing a request for the application to americancockerspanielrescue@yahoo.com), and then email americancockerspanielrescue@yahoo.com to arrange a time. We also adopt over the border to Canadian citizens!! Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rudy, a Tacoma Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Tacoma, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Tacoma.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tacoma already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tacoma breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tacoma paves the way for another one to be saved.
