Gracie's Story...
If you are looking for a second dog, Gracie is the dog for you! Sweet, grieving Gracie-- this most special pooch seems utterly confused to find herself in the shelter without her pups. Heavy with milk, Gracie was found one morning tied up in front of our shelter. Shivering with fear at the loud noises and unfamiliar sights, Gracie curled up in her bed, as though she could will herself away if she wished upon it hard enough. Gracie is adjusting to the new environment, and is receiving lots of t-l-c from her biggest volunteer fans. When you visit her in her kennel, she will find a way to crawl into your lap, so that she can be held and reassured that she is safe. Indeed, Gracie was malnourished upon arrival. Now, she is getting regular meals, medication for her minor ailments, and the loving attention that was obviously absent from this special girl's life beforehand. Gracie adores other dogs, and playfully greets other dogs she meets on her walks. Because of this eagernes, we think Gracie would do best in a home with another well-matched pooch. Come meet Gracie, the gentle soul who is slightly submissive, and is ever-grateful for the smallest of kindnesses bestowed upon her.

Act quickly to adopt Gracie. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
