Lexi's Story...
I am in a sad situation: my partner recently passed away and I am trying to take care of his 2 dogs... A male Bichon, Boomer, and a female Westie, Lexi. They are very sweet dogs: we were together 10 years, he had them for 1 to 2 years prior, so, I'd estimate they are between 11 and 12 years old. They have been together since puppies, so it would be hard to separate them: I've been trying to find a good home for them with no luck. People have wanted 1 dog, not 2. Also I had someone who wanted them, but I didn't think she could properly care for them, thus I declined. I am traveling for work every week and it is too difficult for me to care for them properly. They reside in crates when I'm away. Truly they need people attention and love: they were by Troy's side throughout his illness and are great companions; they love to sleep on the bed with you and follow you throughout the house... naturally they have been spoiled. I would suggest a home without young children, since they've never been around an active child. Health-wise they are in excellent shape: vitamins everyday, treats, etc... Lexi gets a slight skin-condition as do all Westies. I use a spray on her and it goes away. Boomer's right hip has been sensitive since he was a pup: as long as he doesn't jump from high areas he is perfect.
