Sandy's Story...
Sandy is a pure bred cinnamon coat chow with a lavender tongue. The pictures are a before & after her was rescued from the pound & groomed. He is crate trained & house broke. He is very laid back and friendly. He gets along with other dogs but likes to chase cats. He also seems to get along with children. He has been diagnosed with Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS). He was picked up as a stray by the dog warden. So we are wondering if his previous owners tossed him out on the streets due to his eye condition. Update: He seen an eye specialist the end of October. Based on the eye exam the vet states he is 5 years old. He has responded very well to the eye drops, does not need surgery & will not go blind. He will need the eye drops for the rest of his life. At this time they are applied 2 times a day but the doctor feels that soon that can be decreased to one time per day. Sandy is a wonderful chow & has so much to offer. He has adapted well to different environments. Please consider giving him a forever home. He is being fostered in NE Ohio. Please contact Kathy @ for more info.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Columbus Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chow Chow for sale in Columbus, or seeking a Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Columbus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chow Chow breeders who help with Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbus paves the way for another one to be saved.
