Fred and Barney's Story...
Hello, My name is Fred, I'm a muiti colored Guinea Pig. I live with my buddy Barney at Nutmegs Playpen Cavy rescue. The rescue picked us up in Holly Hill, FL. about 3 months ago. The people here gave us baths and yummy food, and all the love and care they can, but it's not the same as being "home". There are almost 45 piggies here looking for forever homes like us. And sometimes that means we miss out on snuggle time. If I had my own set of "people", they could hold me, and watch me play and popcorn with barney on the floor. I could have a big cage and all the veggies I could eat (or so I'm told). I'm glad the rescue saved my life, but I go to sleep everynight dreaming of my very own family. Even If I'm not the piggie for you please keep in mind all the other pigs here feel the same way. We all are looking for that forever home we hear so much about. If you can open your heart and your home, I promise to be the best guinea pig ever, well next to barney!

Thank you for reading, below is a picture of barney and me, I'm the brown one with cowlicks, and barney is all black with a creasted head. We are very cute!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fred and Barney, a Palm Bay Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Palm Bay, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Palm Bay.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palm Bay already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palm Bay breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palm Bay paves the way for another one to be saved.
