Rose's Story...
My name is Rose. I'm a lovely Foxhound named after a lovely flower. The rose is a symbol of beauty, love, and devotion, and I'm told that I exhibit similar characteristics. I'm certainly a beautiful girl with my sleek, tri-color coat. And I'm definitely a loving and devoted girl who would make a welcome addition to any family. In fact, I'm much too lovely to be homeless. You see, I was found running loose in a rural Virginia county. It was obvious that I'd been homeless for quite a while, as I was absolutely emaciated. A kind gentleman noticed my plight, took me home, and nursed me back to health. He wanted to make me a permanent part of his family, but his property manager wouldn't allow that. So now I'm staying here at FOHA while I look for a loving family of my own. I'm a friendly, likable gal and I enjoy meeting people of all ages. I also enjoy the company of other animals, but I can be a bit alpha towards some dogs. So, I do best in a home where the other canine residents wouldn't mind letting me be in charge. Hey, somebody has to be in charge, so it might as well be me. I've lived in a home before, so the volunteers here are sure I was housetrained at one time, although I may need a refresher course. But I'm highly intelligent and so eager to please, so I'm confident that I'll get back in the swing of things in no time. So, if you'd like to add a little beauty to your home and a little love to your life, I'm the perfect gal for you. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rose, a Aldie Foxhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Foxhound for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Foxhound dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Foxhound breeders who help with Foxhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
