Shamus's Story...
I’m a fun-loving boy named Shamus. My time was up at the county pound, so I was rescued and brought to Friends of Homeless Animals for a second chance. I’m a big goofball of a boy. I’m just a year old, so I have lots of playful puppy energy. I’m going to make a great friend and a fine companion, but right now I need someone who will work with me on my obedience skills and teach me how to walk nicely on the leash. Of course I already know those things, but with so many fun new things going on, sometimes I forget. I’d definitely like a home with a fenced yard where I could run and play and a family that enjoys outdoor activities. With my clownish ways and goofy personality, I’m sure to liven up your life. So, let’s go! I’ll be waiting for you. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shamus, a Aldie Old English Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Old English Sheepdog for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Old English Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Old English Sheepdog breeders who help with Old English Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
