Sugarfoot's Story...
I’m a handsome white German Shepherd mix named Sugarfoot. And like my name implies, I’m one tender-hearted guy. The folks at FOHA gave me that name because they say I’m sweet from my head to my toes. In fact, I’m much too sweet to be homeless. See I was found running loose in West Virginia and taken to the county pound. When my owners couldn’t be located, I was scheduled for euthanasia. Thank goodness a nice woman named Lisa-Marie rescued me just in time. Like most Shepherds, I’m an intelligent and loyal guy. And I’m quite well mannered, too. I love to go for walks and I walk nicely on a leash. I like people of all ages and other dogs, too. But I’m generally not a fan of cats. I’d make a wonderful addition to any family. So, if you’re craving something sweet, then I’m the perfect choice for you. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugarfoot, a Aldie German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Collie for sale in Aldie, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
