Sydney's Story...
I’m a super boy named Sydney. I know I’m super, and so do the folks at FOHA. Even my rescuer knows I’m a super guy. But my family didn’t know what a fabulous dog they had, or else they would have ensured that I remained safely with them. See, I was found as a stray and taken to a county shelter. They are required by law to keep strays for 10 days before…well, before bad things can happen. On my 10th day at the shelter, my people FINALLY came to find me and take me home. But they didn’t make sure that I’d remain safely at home, as only two days later, my rescuer found me out running the streets once again. The county pound is nowhere for a family pet, and neither is the streets. So I’ve found my way to FOHA, which I must say is a much nicer place to wait while one waits to find a family. This time I’m going to find one that knows a good thing when they’ve got it and makes sure I am always safely in the house where I belong unless I’m out with the family, monitored and on a leash. That’s the safest way to be is with your family. See, I prefer to be where the action is, whether it’s with adults, children, or other dog friends. I love to play with toys. I’m a great dog. I can be a bit of a “scaredy cat,” though, when it comes to thunderstorms or being left alone in a crate. I don’t care for either of those at all! But what I would care for is a forever home with a loving family who takes good care of me. In return, I’ll give you lots and lots of love. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sydney, a Aldie Foxhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Foxhound for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Foxhound dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Foxhound breeders who help with Foxhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
