Sophie's Story...
SOPHIE IS A COURTESY POSTING AND IS NOT AT THE SHELTER--PLEASE CALL PHIL AT 850-3842. She is approximately 4yrs old and has been spayed. We adopted her from the Humane Society in 2006, she was a stray that was picked up. We put her in obedience classes through PetSmart and she did really well. She does follow most commands, loves swimming, fetching and running. We have 2 small children and we used to have a cat and she has done well with all of them. She is protective of us around strangers but we have never had an incident with her. Also we do have another dog that get's along with really well and she is house trained (of course).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Meridian Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
