Rudy-TX's Story...
Are you ready to fall in love with the Presa Canario breed? If so, fill out an application and meet Rudy. Rudy is a 1-2 year old male Presa Canario. This breed is a mastiff breed and does require an experienced owner willing to put the time into socialization and training. Rudy was found roaming in someone's yard. The family was able to easily load Rudy into their car and take him to a no kill facility in the area. One of the volunteers thought he was a Cane Corso. However, it is clear that he is not a Corso, but rather a close relative of the Corso. Rudy does have some cuts on his face that are healing up nicely. We are unsure where these cuts came from...... probably due to being on his own for a while. Rudy warms up very quickly to people and love to wag his tail. Though he isn't the quickest dog :-), he sure loves to fetch his Bouncy Bone! We believe he will do best in a home with another large breed female dog. We are currently attempting to socialize him with cats.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rudy-TX, a New York Presa Canario dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Presa Canario for sale in New York, or seeking a Presa Canario dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Presa Canario breeders who help with Presa Canario rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
