Kiki's Story...
****This is a courtesy listing. please contact Nancy at nanfope@ix.netcom.com or (518) 370-0620. ***

KiKi is a young neutered female Blue Tabby with green eyes. She is gentle, sweet natured and has an exceptionally lovely face. Her exact age in unknown since her elderly “mommy” died recently and was not able to share much information with me, but my vet believes she is 3-5 yrs. She has had all her shots and is healthy, although a bit overweight. We have been working on this and she has already lost some weight with some reasonable portion control. She has become increasingly active as she has trimmed down and it is important that she get down to her ideal weight so she can live a long and healthy life.

She badly needs a home of her own to enjoy and flourish in. She does not do well with other cats. I have two resident kitties and all three of them are very unhappy… KiKi in particular is under a lot of stress since she’s outnumbered by the boys who don’t appreciate her involuntary invasion of their territory. We’ve given it a try for several months, and the situation has not improved.

She would make a terrific loving and affectionate companion for an elderly or disabled person, or a family with no other pets. I can’t imagine she would do well with dogs, either. She needs to be an only cat.

KiKi is an indoor cat and has never been outside. Although she has not been declawed, she’s completely without any street smarts – so indoors only. Despite the claws, I have not found her to be destructive, although she needs something like a scratching post or special carpet to focus on.

If you are a true cat lover and think you might like to meet KiKi, please contact me at nanfope@ix.netcom.com or (518) 370-0620. I live in Schenectady, but would consider bringing her for an introductory visit if you are unable to come to us.

About Our Rescue Group...
Our mission is to provide abandoned, abused, and stray animals with a place of comfort, safety, and health and ultimately find them loving, responsible, permanent homes. We specialize in helping animals that have no advocate, those that have been abandoned on the streets or who have been abused. Secondly, we seek to reduce the population of unwanted companion animals by arranging for their spay/neutering prior to their adoption or through our Spay/Neuter & Release program. Finally, we seek to provide information to the public on how to better provide for and enjoy their companion animals.

To help fulfill our mission, Whiskers operates a shelter and maintains foster homes for housing lost, homeless, abandoned, injured or sick animals. We conduct fund-raising activities, solicit public contributions, and sell donated items to raise money to pay for the veterinary bills to alter, vaccinate, and restore health to these companion animals.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee is currently $50. We ask everyone to fill out an application to enable us to make a good match between the cat or kitten and the adopter.

All of our cats and kittens are neutered or spayed prior to adoption, have age appropriate vaccines and have been tested for FeLV and FIV.

We have many wonderful adult cats and kittens looking for homes. Please consider stopping by and meeting some of them. We're sure one of them will pick you for their new home!

Call 518-448-9565 and leave a message or email for more information.

Otherwise the first step in the adoption process is to complete an adoption application by e-mailing admin@ewhiskers.com.
