TRUDY's Story...
Hi! My name is Trudy. I just arrived to Lab Rescuers and am so happy to be out of the shelter! I am a beautiful, sweet, purebred English yellow Lab that was found roaming at the mall in Riverside. I am great with kids, other dogs and also cats.
Unfortunately, my previous owners gave me lots of yummy food with little exercise, so I blossomed a bit too much. I am about 35 lbs overweight, and need to get going on my diet and get my swimsuit figure back. The vet says I need to lose this weight, so I really would love to find someone to walk with and monitor my calories so I lose some of the extra pounds before the holidays. Could that be you?

My foster mom says I'm a "doll-baby", and not to brag, but I'm really sweet. I'm ready to find my forever, loving home - I am spayed, up to date on all my shots and microchipped.

If you would like to meet or adopt me, please send an e-mail to: doginfo@labrescuers.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

TRUDY, a San Diego Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
