Lily's Story...
Lily is a 1 year old Black Lab mix.  Her owners would not like to part with her, but are moving where she can't come. They said she is good with everyone, dogs, cats, and kids. She has been around kids from 17 months on up. When Lily was younger, around 6 months, she suffered a broken elbow. Due to the severity of the break & suspected nerve damage, her front leg was amputated. Her owners said this hasn't slowed her down any at all! She still runs like she has 4 legs. And she can play fetch like she still has all 4 legs, too!   ADOPTION FEE $60 This pet has not yet been spayed/neutered. The adopter is required to sign an agreement that they will have this done, and will receive a $25.00 sterilization rebate to help defray the cost.

Potential adopters are required to fill out an adoption application. The application will be e-mailed upon request or can be filled out in person, at the shelter, during open hours. E-mail is the fastest and most reliable way to contact us: pawprints01@hotmail.com Please note – it does take several days to process an adoption application and to determine approval status. Your patience is appreciated.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Fairmont Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Fairmont, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Fairmont.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairmont already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairmont breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairmont paves the way for another one to be saved.
