Sassy is a cute little "Choxie" or a Chihuahua and Doxie Mixed together. She is a cutie, she has the coat, attitude, eye color, and even the body and stature of a dachshund, but yet she has the short little ears and the little longer legs of a Chihuahua.

She is a sweetheart and was a great mama to her three female puppies who were all dumped at a shelter. Her litter of three female puppies have all since been adopted! Sassy has been spayed and is up to date on all her shots!

Sassy will be a great dog in any home. She would be a good lap dog, but is also independent enough that she doesn't need to be "velcroed" to you at all times. She is playful and loving and would do well with a partner or by herself.

She would do well with children 8 years old and up only, who has dachshund experience.

Most dogs especially older ones are housetrained, like these little guys are, they can use a doggy door. However, it should be reminded that there will be few accidents in the beginning as all of the dogs are nervous and uncomfortable in new surroundings, until they get accustom to their new home. With proper discipline from the beginning, and corrective techniques, this behavior should stop within a few weeks.

Adoption fees for Sassy have not been set yet.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us. PLEASE NOTE: Any emails sent to us asking about availability or to adopt a dog without an application will not be returned.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassy, a Garden Grove Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Garden Grove, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Garden Grove.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Garden Grove already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Garden Grove breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Garden Grove paves the way for another one to be saved.
