Sweet Pumpkin's Story...
This Wanna-be-lap cat, The Great Pumpkin was found on the streets of Bed-Stuy and was very tired of roughing it. He couldn't wait to be inside and be loved! He is ready and waiting for you to come and give him a great forever home.

He has gorgeous light green eyes and is one of the most handsome kitties I have ever met. A sweetheart who is a bit shy and waiting to bloom, he loves to be pet and brushed and is very laid-back. Put this big guy in your lap; he loves to be cradled. His greatest hope is to spend his life at your side, being your faithful friend, always there ready for you when you want him. The Great Pumpkin gets along great with other kitties and would be a good pet for a child as well (last picture is him with my diabetic kitty).

This 2- year old is up-to-date on all of his shots, tested negative for fiv/leuk, and uses his box consistently.

Tax-deductible donation to help rescue other sweethearts.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweet Pumpkin, a New York American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in New York, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
