    About Le'Land's Heart Sanctuary

    About Our Shelter...

The Sanctuary is a small, privately run, non-profit (501(c)3) organization. We have had our tax-exempt status since 2000.

We care for and place relinquished or abandoned dogs and cats.

The Sanctuary is an ALL volunteer place and we always need help--both financial and physical.

We started in 1999 and place an average of 60 animals per year.

In addition to caring for and placing pets, we provide 'Safe Dog Approach' and 'Responsible Pet Ownership' classes to schools, churches, day-care facilities and any other interested group.

    Our Adoption Process...

No animal leaves the Sanctuary without a minimum of the following:
Interview—after you contact the Sanctuary you will be called by a board member and interviewed over the phone.
Visit to the Sanctuary—by the adopting person &/or family. If you live too far away, extensive telephone & email contact with the adoption coordinator is required.
Home visit—by a Board Member if you are local to Lubbock OR a person from a rescue organization in your area contacted by the Sanctuary.

Our adoption fee is $125.00 which includes the pet’s spay/neuter, current vaccinations and microchip.
